In this episode Coach Tim shares his successes, but also the determination, the drive and the perseverance that it took to get there. From a young age, Tim took the mindset of “I’m not only going to learn this, but I’m going to perfect this and become the best at this”. He wanted to be the best not from a place of ego, but from a place of wanting to serve and help others in the best way possible. And that mindset is what has brought him such tremendous success and accomplishments in his life.

This interview goes way beyond the sports performance, the struggles and how Tim overcame them to achieve the level of success that he has.

This is one of my favorite interviews that I’ve done because I am all about seeing and sharing men showing up differently in life. That’s what I love so much about this story and this interview; you see Tim interact with his kids, it’s real and it’s raw. I see this shift happening with men and women where women are finding their voice and becoming stronger and more confident, while men are becoming more vulnerable and sharing from a different place.

Tim embodies that shift. Yes, he’s a “guys-guy”; a sports performance coach who works with the top 1% of athletes in the world. But he also shows vulnerability, connection and passion. His two boys, Ryder and Zane, are his greatest accomplishments and you can see the love and connection among them when they make a special guest appearance in the interview.

When I say this man has an incredible story...I am putting it mildly. To say that he had a difficult childhood…would be an understatement.

To have faced the hardships that he did….and the difficulties that he endured...and to have gone through things at a young age that no person should ever have to experience in their entire lives...

To be now living his life as a tremendously successful, confident, happy man who is truly living into his passion and his purpose each and every day → is remarkable. His life has seen his share of ups and downs, but through it all he was always determined to be great.

Today, Anthony Trucks is a husband and father of 3, former NFL player, gym owner, international speaker, author, six figure consultant, and guy who genuinely loves to improve people’s lives by teaching them how to design and actually build a better one.

You will want to hear Anthony’s story and how Trust Your Hustle has become his passion and his mission in life; “No trust, no hustle. No hustle, no success. So you HAVE to...Trust Your Hustle”.

Why do we get so WEIRD with money?

Money is such a sticky subject. And it makes people so uncomfortable to talk about. Frankly, talking about money just makes people act weird.

And it’s because, as a whole, we have a weird relationship with money.

We are afraid to set goals that include a financial aspect, or we don’t want to talk about it for risk of sounding superficial or braggart or we don’t want to put ourselves in a “less than/more than” situation with people.

Let's dive into WHY we get so weird with money and how we can start to move forward. Spoiler alert → how you feel about money is tied to your mindset and how you feel about your own self worth. Yup, we are going there :)

Let's look at a major barrier that’s preventing you from reaching that next level of success - the F word.

Our mind is a powerful thing. It is programmed to protect us.

It protects us from what we’ve gone through in the past, our own insecurities, our past experiences, physical pain and being vulnerable. Fear is a survival mechanism - that’s the good part.

The problem is that our brain doesn’t know the difference between REAL danger and us just playing small. All it knows is fear. And that tells us not to do things.

Do you have fears that are coming up for you? The fear of failure? Of rejection? Of putting yourself out there? Of ridicule? Of losing all your money and resources?

In this podcast episode, I walk you through the steps to overcome this fear so that you are finally able to level up and achieve the things you want in life.

Your decisions are costing you more than you think.

And I’m not just talking about money.

I recently got home from a trip to California where I was immersed in personal development, conferences, learning, growth and connections for 10 days. It was nothing short of incredible and the things I have gained are invaluable.

But if I said it wasn’t a financial strain to travel to another country for 10 days, I’d be lying.

If I made decisions based out of emotions, based out of fear, or based on nothing more than the short term benefit/loss analysis - then I may not have invested in going on this trip.

But I know better. I know better for myself and for my business.

Let’s get real and talk about the real cost when making decisions in our lives. And what does it cost to NOT make certain decisions?

New on this episode - we dive into this topic. And I’ll walk you through the process I go through when I’m making decisions for myself.

I just got home from a two week vacation with my family. We travelled across the country to visit family in Quebec and we truly had an amazing time. I’m back and though slightly jetlagged, feeling refreshed and recharged and ready to hit the grind again.

This trip was exactly what I needed in so many ways.

In today’s podcast, I want to share with you a few things that I took away from this vacation.

1 - Why we chose to shut down shop, so to speak, for a couple weeks here at Change by Choice.

2 - What I learned about myself while I was gone

3 - And why taking the time to give yourself some white space and disengage from your work is SO important.

We all have the same amount of time in a day. 24 hours. Yes, some of us wake up earlier and go to sleep later, allowing ourselves to have more hours in a functioning or working day. But in the end, we all have 24 hours. Are you using the time you are allowing yourself to work in productively?

Not everyone has the opportunity to work in a career that ignites them and leads them to passion daily, at that’s okay! But for those that do wish they could be in a passionate role and aren’t, but see others they know that are, bitterness can arise. And if it does, it is time to reevaluate your goals and passions and if you are choosing to take a gamble on those passions or if you are going to choose to remain in the resentment because you aren’t quite ready for the work.

Bitterness and resentment become a deep, black hole that we all can get stuck in. If we allow bitterness to, it will take over our minds and our lives! It will begin to take over the happiness that we deserve to have.

Begin by slowing the process down and listen to your feelings; pause to ask yourself some questions, reflect on your feelings, and listen to what your gut is telling you. That self-coaching truly leads you to being able to make leaps and bounds of forward motion to moving out of any bitterness.

The choice to move out of the bitter darkness is up to you; nobody can make it for you.

Feelings of overwhelm are not uncommon in the professional world, especially for entrepreneurs! But the way we choose to handle the overwhelm is most important. Like all other choices we make, creating habits for the positive choices is what is going to guide us to lasting developmental growth when the overwhelm strikes. Learning how to implement these lasting habits will guide you to creating more peace--and I know we all strive for more peace!

Listen to this week's episode of Change by Choice to learn about the disciplines that are vital in creating peace rather than overwhelm.

Accountability, it is one of the most important characteristics we should have!

Being accountable and taking control of your actions is vital when it comes to advancing your life and making the most of your journey.

We are living the ONLY life we get to live. Being robbed of joy and abundance has got to be the last thing you want! And if you’re feeling robbed, now is the time to make some changes to your mindset for growth, clarity, and positivity.

Feb 14, 2017

Knowing and understanding your truth requires checking in with yourself and checking in with yourself leads to an increase in self-love. Self-love takes showing up for yourself, it takes accepting and being committed to your good and bad and the course corrections that may come.

Begin to love the process, trust the process, and enjoy the process of learning about yourself and your truth! The more you are able to jump into and learn about yourself, the stronger your self-love will grow.

And that, is a beautiful thing!

Feb 7, 2017

How do you feel about the word and definition of mediocrity? Do you hate living in the mediocre mindset but still haven’t been honest with yourself that that’s where you’ve been? Accountability is our biggest partner and without it, growth and advancement out of mediocrity cannot happen.

The first step to changing and removing yourself from a mediocre lifestyle is acknowledging it. If you do feel comfortable living a mediocre life, own it! And give yourself grace and peace with it.

Allow yourself the opportunity to truly evaluate where you are in your life and with your goals and be honest with how you’re feeling. Are you uncomfortable, dissatisfied, and feeling rejection and conflict--be honest with yourself with those answers and decide to grow from it and figure a way to push through them!

Effective communication takes reflection and practice so that you can learn where you are being held back in communicating, how you can change, and how you will move forward. Communication improvement requires refinement and confidence.

What is your past history with communication? Think about it and write it down. Did you come from a house of yellers? Or of passive aggressive communicators? And are you continuing in that same approach now? This will help you begin to connect the dots as to why you are the communicator you are now.

Is the way you are communicating currently leading you to the results you ultimately want? Commit to improving yourself to improve your relationships.

Listen to this episode of Change by Choice to learn more about effective communication as well as three tips that can help you improve.

Working around the clock as an high-level event planner, neglecting her health with food choices of pop tarts and a box of pasta, and leaving self-care as her last thought, Kim struggled with balance and confidence for years. It started and grew from her adolescence with a challenging family dynamic and succumbing to the neglect that she believed was normal. The submissive and tentative lifestyle and beliefs in herself didn’t stop until her twenties when she began to learn how much more she deserved. She learned that she had the ability to change her mindset, health, and lifestyle and to surround herself by people of love and positivity rather than negativity.

She describes herself as a “former extreme pessimist to an obnoxious optimist.”

Kim Gorski is the CEO of the brand, Balance Over Perfect where she mentors women to find more self-love, learn how to be insanely productive, and share how health & fitness changed her life. She has worked hard to create a brand she is proud of and a system to help we women learn how to do it all, productively and without going insane!

When it comes to goal setting, I want you to stick to your gut and stick to what is burning inside--do not feel like you need to defend yourself for the goals you set! As long as they are healthy, positive, and are moving the needle forward, they are worth it and are goals to be proud of.

Along with defending certain goals you may have, do you feel like you have to defend YOURSELF to others? Explain yourself, explain your decisions, explain your motives and every move you are making? This constant defensive mindset will keep you from growing in confidence to move your life forward; it will keep you from trusting yourself and trusting that you are making the correct decisions for you and your wellbeing.

Now, there are times when we find ourselves being more defensive and short with others in various situations. I want to touch upon that this can be due at times to an internal feeling that you have that is leaving you not feeling physically or emotionally well. It could be an uneasy, icky, feeling of paranoia and if it is, there is generally a reason you are feeling it and it could come from doubt in yourself.

Have you ever felt this way?
